Summer Internship: User Experience Design
Spend a summer creating the World's Leading Digital Shepherd at Monil and in the field.
Are you interested in working on user experience design with real-world impacts? At Monil we create products that improve the lives of both farmers and animals.
As a summer intern in Monil, you’ll get to work on interesting problems where you’ll have to use your own imagination and creativity in order to find good solutions to technical challenges. You’ll work in collaboration with our experienced team of engineers, as well as with other departments, creating impactful solutions to actual problems.

About the job
Monil aims to be the world's leading digital shepherd. To make this vision real, a ground breaking service needs to be developed. The interface between farmer and herd is the smartphone app. It enables the farmer to manage, monitor, fence and ultimately move animals from anywhere in the world. In 2024, we had for the first time several thousand animals using our products and in 2025 we expect to grow even more both in Norway and abroad. To do this, we must create an educative app that helps our customers succeed with our product. Starting points for an assignment could be:
Improving the fence editor to let people easily change their fences for their herds
Visualizing dynamic virtual fences with their unique benefits and limitations
Exploring how we can elegantly present herd data
Examining measures to improve our onboarding experience
You’ll work as a member of the product team in close collaboration with the cloud team and farmer success. The summer job will take place during the midst of the grazing season, when the product is used at most. This means that you have excellent opportunities to learn from the users behaviour in real time.
The internship will begin in June, with the exact start date to be agreed upon. It will last for 6-8 weeks. The application deadline is October 6th.
It's beneficial if you have
Initiative and willingness to go out and talk to real users.
An urge to create great user experiences
Proficiency using Figma or similar design tools
3+ years of education or experience in user experience design or an adjacent discipline
