Cognite pioneers knowledge technology for the enterprise. The industrial data platform that Cognite is developing addresses this by empowering customers to make data a strategic asset for accelerated performance, innovation, and decision-making.
Cognite is currently used in the Oil & Gas sector, but given the inherent cost advantage of software vs traditional approaches, all problems that can be solved using software, both should and will eventually be solved using software and associated advanced algorithms. In the future, Cognite technology will also be used by for example companies in the Manufacturing Services, Logistics, and Shipping verticals. As an example, Aker BP, and (exploration and production) company, has entered into a long-term collaboration with Cognite based on a strategic belief that advanced digitization is required to deliver on Aker BP’s vision to become a leading independent offshore company. Delivering on this vision requires maximizing the value of new and existing assets, and a step change towards a faster and more cost-efficient value chain. The Cognite data platform will be a key enabler in this change.
To address this, Cognite was established an experienced team under leadership of Dr. John Markus Lervik (founder of Fast Search Transfer and Cxense). Other founding team members have experience from among others technology (Google, Microsoft, Schibsted) and business (McKinsey Company and PwC). We continue to expand our team, bringing in top talent with the required competencies to help lift this ambitious project.
